Coalition Talks in Israel

I am sure you already know that the Israeli President, Shimon Peres, asked Binyamin Netanyahu to form a government. He has about 6 weeks to solidify a ruling coalition.

Unlike in America, in Israel there are many different parties. The USA used to have Republicans and Democrats and Independents. Today – it seems – there are only Democrats left who rule the country, under their newly elected Muslim president, Barack Hussein Obama.

In Israel’s past elections, the party that won the most Knesset seats was always given the opportunity to form the next coalition as prime minister. Now, here comes the joker! In this year’s February 10 elections, the centrist Kadima party won the most seats, but the Likud rightist party has a larger block of rightist parties than the Kadima center/leftist block. The Likud lost the election by one seat, but the winning party Kadima couldn’t find the needed 61 Knesset Seats to form the government. Just imagine! There are now 12 different parties in the current Knesset. (Another 18 failed to get enough votes to make the threshold.)

None of this pleases President Hussein’s Administration. They openly wanted Kadima to be in charge. In fact Obama sent George Mitchell to Israel last week and his first stop was to talk with Livni in hopes of somehow stopping Likud and the right wing parties in Israel.

Netanyahu invited Tzipi Livni and her Kadima party to join Likud in a 'unity' government, but she's resisting since she favors giving half of Israel to the Palestinians. She publicly declared that she will not serve in Netanyahu's cabinet because he "cannot even say the words 'two states for two peoples,' so clearly he can't commit to advancing that goal."

As it looks right now, Netanyahu could form a government with 65 Knesset seats by bringing into the government several of the smaller right wing parties. What this also means is that Netanyahu will be constantly under pressure to conform to the wishes of these small parties in not giving away any of the land of Israel. The narrow rightist block with its powerful ultra-Orthodox partners is easy enough to please as long as they get money and “keep the status quo,” meaning control of who can marry whom, who can receive citizenship, and who can convert to Judaism, and under what circumstances.

That brings yet another difficulty for Bibi Netanyahu and his Likud party. The fourth largest party, Israel Beitenu (Israel our House), and its leader Avigdor Lieberman won many of his 15 seats through the votes of Russian immigrants who want to end the stifling control of the ultra-Orthodox over their civil rights. In short, it would be difficult for Lieberman and Shas and the other religious parties to serve in the same coalition.

Furthermore, Netanyahu could not be excited about facing the world with an extremely narrow rightist block perceived both in Israel and abroad as inflexible and obstinate as regards to progress with the Palestinians. This type of coalition would probably not last long.

For the last 25 years, Israel has muddled through a series of prime ministers who rise and fall every couple of years. The coalitions - needing 61 seats out of parliament’s 120 - are so wobbly, so untenable, that any prime minister who finally puts together a coalition must continually spend an inordinate amount of time just trying to stay afloat rather than governing the nation. - Theoretically (but not always true) the larger the coalition, the more stable the government.

Of course the Knesset could change the laws of this dysfunctional coalition-type government. But until now, the ultra-Orthodox parties, afraid they might lose seats, have always blocked all parliamentary attempts.

Since Israeli governments fall with ease and are formed with enormous difficulty, the best thing to come out of this fiasco so far is the pubic campaign gaining momentum to call for a long overdue reform of the defunct electoral system.

The Israel Democracy Institute - a nonpartisan group - has been gaining traction calling for electing individual Knesset members who represent regions, instead of voting for national parties.

But with all its surrounding threats, Israel truly doesn’t have the luxury
of time for coalition bargaining.

Honor Killing in America

On the eve of Valentine’s Day, a ghastly honor-killing happened here in America.



The killer is Muzammil Hassan. He was the CEO of “Bridges”, a newly founded Muslim TV channel, which he started in the basement of his home, upstate New York. Muzzammil Hassan, 44, and his wife, Aasiya Hassan, 37, founded “Bridges TV” in November 2004. They described it as a satellite news and opinion channel aimed at portraying Muslims in a positive light following the Sept. 11 attacks.



After 9-11, Americans started to focus on Islam. Many soon came to the conclusion that Islam was a violent religion. After all, one doesn’t fly an airplane into a building on a peaceful mission! - So, they asked themselves the question: “Is Islam peaceful or violent?” The answer was: “Islam is violent.” It is a religion born out of violence, propagated through violence, and still accustomed to violence even today.



Muzzammil Hassan hoped to show Muslims in a more positive light. He wanted to change the Muslim image. That’s why he founded “Bridges TV” in November 2004. - "Every day on television we are barraged by stories of a 'Muslim extremist, militant, terrorist, or insurgent,'" Hassan said in the 2004 release. "But the stories that are missing are the countless stories of Muslim tolerance, progress, diversity, service and excellence that Bridges TV hopes to tell."



Did he succeed to portray a picture of peaceful Islam to America? Not according to Orchard Park Police Chief Andrew Benz. According to him, Hassan is accused of cutting off his wife's head at his Buffalo, N.Y., station Feb. 12. Yes, you heard right, Aasiya Z., the wife of Hassan, 37, was found dead on Thursday at the offices of Bridges TV in Orchard Park, N.Y., near Buffalo. - Her husband, Muzzammil Hassan, 44, has been charged with second-degree murder. – Why only second degree?



The estranged wife of the Muslim television executive feared for her life after filing for divorce last month from her abusive husband, her attorney said — and was then found beheaded Thursday in his upstate New York television studio. The Hassans were married for eight years and had two children together, ages 4 and 6. Aasiya was her husband's third wife, and the couple reportedly met on the Internet.



Benz said officers were called to the couple's home on Feb. 6, when Aasiya Hassan had obtained an order of protection barring her husband from the home. - "He was served with divorce papers that day at the [television studio]," Benz said. "He came back to the residence and was pounding on doors and broke one window … He left the premises that night." - Benz said Hassan's body was found on an office floor at the Orchard Park television station.

On Feb. 12, Hassan informed police his wife was dead and told them exactly where to find her body. According to CNN reports, Hassan confessed to killing Aasiya. He has been charged with second-degree murder. Authorities are still looking for a murder weapon
Hassan, who was arraigned Thursday, remains jailed at the Erie County Holding Center. No bail had been set and an attorney for Hassan was not listed, according to a jail spokeswoman. Hassan has a court hearing scheduled for Wednesday afternoon, Benz said.



Beheadings are more common in Hassan's former homeland of Pakistan and throughout the Islamic world. Just a week ago, Taliban terrorists in that country beheaded a Polish geologist abducted in an effort to arrange a prisoner swap.



An American U.N. worker, John Solecki, is currently facing a similar fate at the hands of Islamic terrorists in that country.

According to Islam, if a woman disobeys her husband she is disgraced. Therefore, when Aasiya Zubair, the wife of Hassan, resorted to the Western justice system to seek protection from her menacing husband, she had certainly broken the Islamic tenet of complete surrender to the wishes of her husband. Thus, she had dishonoured her husband, his reputation and, most importantly, the Islamic code of conduct for an obedient wife. Therefore, it is not surprising that the killer had to end her life Islamically, to restore his pride, honor and religious conviction.

The Qur’an is the basis of honor killing in Islam. 4:15:
YUSUF ALI: If any of
your women are guilty of lewdness, Take the evidence of four witnesses from
amongst you against them; and if they testify, confine them to houses until
death do claim them, or Allah ordain for them some way.

This verse clearly tells that a disgraced woman is condemned to a solitary confinement till death. The alternative is the judgment of Allah. The Qur’an is not clear what that judgment of Allah could be. There are various interpretations on this. Therefore, it is a fish market: anyone may do to his woman whatever he wishes, including ending her life.



YUSUF ALI: Men are the protectors and maintainers of women, because Allah has given the one more than the other, and because they support them from their means. Therefore the righteous women are devoutly obedient, and guard in his absence what Allah would have them guard. As to those women on whose part ye fear disloyalty and ill-conduct, admonish them first, Next, refuse to share their beds, And last beat them but if they return to obedience, seek not against them Means For Allah is Most High, great



Please note that in verse 4:34 Allah permits a husband to punish his disobedient wife. It is worthy to observe that this verse says if the husband suspects or fears disobedience and rebellion; that the actual acts might not have taken place. This verse also says that the men are the protectors of women. Thus, Islamically, Aasiya was foolish enough to seek the protection of Canadian law. It was a clear violation of Qur’anic injunction of verse 4:34, a challenge to Islam. And, as per the Islamic law, if anyone violates the Qur’anic command the only punishment is death by beheading. Thus, we may conclude that Hassan has acted in the manner that Qur’an commands him.



See, in Islam, a woman is nothing more than her husband’s property. There are a number of ahadith that say that a Muslim woman’s status to her husband is no more than a slave.
Since in Islam, a woman is the property of her husband, it is imperative that the husband reserves the full right to dispose off his property in any manner he wishes.

Barack Hussein Obama said on CNN: "Words matter in this situation because one of the ways we're going to win this “struggle” is through the battle of hearts and minds."

For those old enough to remember or smart enough to learn the lessons of history, they should sound familiar – very familiar. - But some lessons are just never learned.

What "struggle" are we talking about? The word “struggle” is translated into German as “Kampf”. “My struggle” = “Mein Kampf”. If this sounds familiar, it is because Hitler wrote a book called: “Mein Kampf.”

What is this “struggle” all about?

“Mein Kampf", is a racist book in which Hitler divides humans into categories based on physical appearance, establishing higher and lower orders, or types of humans. At the top, according to Hitler, is the Germanic man with his fair skin, blond hair and blue eyes. Hitler refers to this type of person as an Aryan. He asserts that the Aryan is the supreme form of human, or master race.
And so it follows - in Hitler's thinking - if there is a supreme form of human, then there must be others less than supreme, the “Untermenschen”, or racially inferior. Hitler assigns this position to Jews and the Slavic peoples, notably the Czechs, Poles, and Russians.

Throughout “Mein Kampf”, Hitler refers to Jews as parasites, liars, dirty, crafty, sly, wily, and clever, without any true culture, spongers, maggots, eternal blood suckers, repulsive, unscrupulous, monsters, foreigners, bloodthirsty, avaricious, destroyers of Aryan humanity, and mortal enemies of Aryan humanity...

The Quran also states that Islam and Muslims are the superiors of mankind and that Islam is divinely mandated to rule the world and dominate all other races, creeds and nations. - In Arabic, the noun "struggle" (Kampf) means “Jihad “. That’s why Arab children learn the song: "Arabs Our Beloved and Jews Our Dogs."

Nonie Darwish says: “In the Arab world we were only taught one meaning for Jihad, and that is: A religious holy war against infidels and armed struggle against anyone who is not a Moslem. It is a fight for Allah's cause. The highest rewards and honor will be bestowed upon those who die in Jihad, who are then called Shahid, meaning martyr.”

Every time Osama Bin Laden speaks about Jihad, he speaks of a clear mission to destroy western civilizations and win the world to Islam.

So, who does Obama see as the enemy? –

I am starting to think that President Obama lives in his own world, a kind of
parallel universe to the real world. Speaking from Obama World, he is convinced
that if enough kind and gentle words are spoken, he can personally change the
Real World.

Several observers noted within the last few weeks that Mr. Obama's outreach to the Muslim world was apologetic. It explicitly embraced a narrative that is factually erroneous and deprecating to the United States of America.

Obama said: "My job to the Muslim world is to communicate that the Americans are not your enemy. We sometimes make mistakes. We have not been perfect."

With these words he is signaling profound weakness to our enemies. And what is really worrying is that Mr. Obama's actions and rhetoric are being perceived by the Muslim audience as evidence - not of respect but of subservience - precisely what Islam (literally, "submission" in Arabic) requires of all of us, Muslims and non-Muslims, alike.

Obama’s message conveys submission and weakness, and his foreign policy will lead America to a disaster of untold proportions.

We Should Be Sitting On The Edge of Our Seats

The prospects of Iran acquiring a nuclear weapon have dominated the world agenda at least for the last few years. Everyone has by now heard of the threat that Iran is working on becoming a nuclear power. European intelligence estimated it would take Iran until 2012 to achieve this. Israeli intelligence figured late 2007.

Yesterday a top official from the Interfax News Agency said that Russia plans to begin operating the nuclear reactor it has been building for Iran before the end of 2009. The head of Russia's state nuclear corporation, Sergei Kiriyenko, was quoted from the Kremlin on Wednesday confirming the launch of the Bushehr reactor later this year. – If anyone knows that, it is Russia, because it supplies Iran with all the nuclear material it needs.

"If there are no unforeseen events... then the launch will go according to the timetable," Sergei Kiriyenko, chief of Russia's state nuclear corporation, Rosatom, was quoted as saying. "The launch is scheduled for this year." - Iran's Bushehr nuclear reactor project has encountered delays in the past, mainly on the grounds of payment disputes between the Islamic Republic and Moscow.

Iran's nuclear ambitions have now become a reality.

In Ezekiel 38 – 39, the Bible warns that Iran (Persia), with the help of Russia (Magog/Scythia) and other Islamic allies, will go to war ... and will attack and invade Israel.

In Ezekiel 39 the Bible goes on to warn that the invading armies will be utterly destroyed ... by G-D Himself! Also in Ezekiel 39 there are hints this coming war may go nuclear because Israel will wait months to enter the battlefield after the battle, they will "set apart men regularly employed" (professionals) to bury the dead, and later if a bone is spotted it is to be "marked" for the professionals to bury (exactly the same procedures that are now found in our military nuclear/biological/chemical "battlefield cleanup" manuals today) ... the aftermath of this invasion will be very, very gruesome.

Taking a step back and looking at what is happening in the world today, it is hard not to miss the fact that events are developing in concert with the ancient prophecies of Scripture.

The Prophet Ezekiel predicted an alliance between Russia and an Islamic confederacy headed by Iran, or Persia.

Of all the generations in history, it is to this generation that the prophecies of the last days are addressed. Previous generations looked for the signs given by Scripture, but only this generation can truly see them all come together at one time – which is itself a key fulfillment of prophecy.
Prophet Daniel predicted these conditions: "I heard this, but I couldn’t understand what it ment, so I asked, ‘Lord, what will be the outcome of all this?’ But he said, 'Go your way, Daniel; for these words are to remain secret and sealed until the time of the end.'" (Daniel 12:8-9) - Today we are witnessing the "unsealing" of the end-times prophecies.

The incredible accuracy of the prophets to this point is not likely to suddenly have a misstep.
The only time in history Iran has gone to war against Israel was to help Israel throw off the yoke of the Byzantine Empire around 614 AD. - But the current threats of war Iran is making against Israel, represent the first time in history the world is seeing the imminent fulfillment of this prophecy.

We should be sitting on the edge of our seats with white knuckles because - for
the first time in history - we can now watch the news and see this terrible
prophecy slowly start to unfold . . .

We are not exactly sure when this attack/invasion will take place ... but, from current news headlines, it looks as though it is now getting very close,.... and for some yet unknown reason the United States will be 'neutralized' sometime before this attack and will be either unwilling or unable to help Israel.

Even Nostradamus took careful attention to warn those living at the onset of the 21st century about a potential clash between Near East and the West–a headlong collision between Judeo-Christian and Islamic civilizations.

Long comets, he says, trailing sparks (ballistic missiles) will strike cities like swords. Ships of great navies will melt and sink into the waters of what today's geographers call, the Persian Gulf.

Israel Attacked. Again. Still.

IDF soldiers patrolling the Gaza border near the Kissufim crossing came under fire Sunday morning, shortly after four Kassams were fired at the South from the Strip. Troops returned fire into Gaza, and no casualties or damage were reported in the attack.
In the rocket attacks, one Kassam landed between two kindergartens in the Eshkol region.

Another two rockets hit open areas nearby and a fourth hit the Sdot Negev region. Four mortar shells also landed next to a western Negev neighborhood.
No one was wounded and no damage was reported in the barrage, and the warning siren was sounded before the rockets landed.
Shortly after the incidents, Fatah's military wing, the Aqsa Martyrs Brigades, took responsibility for one of the rocket attacks.

Following the attack, Infrastructures Minister Binyamin Ben-Eliezer called for an immediate IDF response. "We need to respond severely and immediately... Hamas must pay for this," he told Army Radio, adding that no one should give the excuse that a smaller faction was responsible for the attack.
MK Gideon Sa'ar (Likud) urged the government to immediately respond to the attack.
Eight rockets have been fired at southern Israel since both Israel and Hamas declared cease-fires some two weeks ago at the end of Operation Cast Lead.
